Hey there, fellow business owner! Taxes might not be the most exciting thing, but trust me, you don’t want the IRS knocking on your door. So, let’s keep it simple, fun, and – most importantly – on time.
Important Tax Deadlines You Can’t Ignore
March 17, 2025 – First Big One!
S Corporations & Partnerships (Forms 1120-S & 1065) – Your tax return is due! (Or file an extension if you’re not ready.)
Heads up! Filing an extension gives you more time to submit your paperwork, but it doesn’t delay the bill. If you owe, pay by the deadline or expect some not-so-friendly letters from the IRS.
April 15, 2025 – The Classic “Tax Day”
C Corporations (Form 1120) – It’s your turn to file.
Sole Proprietors (Schedule C) – If you’re your own boss, this one’s for you.
Estimated Taxes – If you earn income that isn’t taxed at the source, make your estimated tax payment. Uncle Sam waits for no one.
June 16, 2025 – Quick Check-In
Estimated Tax Payments – If you’re required to pay quarterly, this is your second payment of the year. Don’t forget!
September 15, 2025 – Stay on Track
Estimated Tax Payment Due – Third quarter payment for those making quarterly estimated payments.
Extended Returns for S Corps & Partnerships – If you filed an extension back in March, time’s up. Get it done!
October 15, 2025 – FINAL CALL
Extended Returns for C Corps & Sole Proprietors – This is the last, LAST chance to file if you got an extension in April. Procrastination station, your stop is here!
How to Avoid a Tax Nightmare
- Mark Your Calendar – Write it on your whiteboard, set alarms, or make your dog wear a sign with the deadlines. Whatever it takes to remember!
- Get Your Stuff in Order – Taxes love organization. Know your numbers, track your income, and keep things smooth.
- Don’t Wing It – Taxes aren’t a “guess and check” kind of thing. If you’re unsure, get help from a tax pro (like us!).
- File On Time, Pay On Time – Extensions buy you time to file, not time to pay. If you owe, pay up by the original deadline to avoid penalties.
Look, taxes don’t have to be a headache. Stay ahead of the game, meet these deadlines, and you’ll be golden. And if this still sounds overwhelming, let’s chat.
We’ll make sure you’re stress-free and penalty-free.
